Judaism is the oldest religion in the West, shaping western worldview, social institutions, and culture. The mission of Jewish Studies at ASU is to educate students, faculty and the public at large about the centrality of Judaism in Western history and culture.

Jewish Studies at ASU combines research, teaching and community outreach.

Together, the Center for Jewish Studies and the Jewish Studies Program enhance knowledge of all facets of Jewish life through undergraduate and graduate courses, research conferences, workshops, scholar-in-residence programs and public lectures.

Jewish Studies is involved with numerous ongoing special projects and initiatives, such as:

• Travel & Study Tours for Friends of Jewish Studies
• Hosting visiting professors, such as the Plotkin Visiting Professor
• Arizona Holocaust Institute Initiative
• Partnering with the Arizona Jewish Historical Society to create video histories
